Toronto International
Dragon Boat Race Festival

June 13th & 14th , 2026

What began in 1989 with just 27 enthusiastic teams has grown into one of North America’s premier dragon boat events. Now entering its 38th year, the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival continues to make waves as a highlight of the city’s summer calendar—and a cornerstone of the continent’s dragon boat racing scene.

Proudly organized by the Toronto Chinese Business Association in partnership with GWN Dragon Boat, the Festival returns to the picturesque Centre Island on the Toronto Islands—an iconic location that offers sweeping views of the city skyline and a perfect venue for thrilling water sport action.

This year, we’re excited to announce that the Festival is officially recognized as a Dragon Boat Canada (DBC) Race Series Event, solidifying its status as a must-attend competition for top teams from across the continent. Crews from all corners of North America will converge on Toronto’s waterfront to compete, celebrate, and be part of a tradition that blends cultural heritage, athleticism, and community spirit.

Beyond the competition, the Festival is a cultural showcase, featuring food vendors, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities that reflect Toronto’s rich diversity. Spectators can enjoy an unforgettable day by the water—cheering for their favorite teams, exploring the vibrant festival grounds, and soaking up the infectious energy that makes this event truly special.

With world-class racing, vibrant cultural experiences, and an unbeatable waterfront atmosphere, the 2026 Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival promises to be an unforgettable celebration on and off the water—uniting thousands of paddlers, fans, and families in one of the city’s most beloved summer traditions.
